Founded in 1953, Orta transformed from a spinning & weaving company to a denim manufacturer in 1985. Today, Orta produces over 60 million meters of denim in its Turkey and Bahrain factories.

Orta Blu, founded in 2010, is our sustainability division.

It aims to communicate Orta’s efforts in resource management and conservation, create Social Missions, and promote upcycling and recycling both by example and by helping our online community understand how they can make a difference even with small changes. Orta Blu makes this information accessible with the creation of media and fictional characters like Mr. Blu, who is our liaison to children.

For decades, Orta has practiced sustainability in the disposal of chemical waste and the usage of energy and water. Energy&Tech communicates these efforts while preparing Orta for the issuing of its first CSR Report.
