What is Orta Blu?

Orta Blu, established in 2010, is the sustainability division of Orta.

It aims to communicate Orta’s efforts in resource management and conservation, create Social Missions, and promote upcycling and recycling both by example and by helping our online community understand how they can make a difference even with small changes.

Orta Blu makes this information accessible with the creation of media and fictional characters like Mr. Blu, who is our liaison to children.

Here are the main focuses of Orta Blu:

Energy&Tech

For decades, Orta has practiced sustainability in the disposal of chemical waste and the usage of energy and water.

Energy&Tech communicates these efforts while preparing Orta for the issuing of its first CSR Report.

Social Missions

Using denim as a catalyst, Orta has launched a series of initiatives that are helping NGOs on three different continents to sustain their programs. Orta works in the field, and approaches the problems with the determination to make a difference and the know-how of an international business. Orta offers training and supplies to members of NGOs, and documents the experience to better understand how to create solutions.

This is called the Orta Blu Life-Loop, where outcomes of these missions become new missions for Orta to tackle.
